Abstract: Lithodytes lineatus (Schneider, 1799) is a medium-sized frog distributed throughout South America and found in Brazil in the Amazonia and Cerrado domains. Here we document two new records of the species in forested areas in the state of Amapá, Northern Brazil, and provide an updated distribution map for it. The record of L. lineatus in the state of Amapá extends its distribution approximately 78 km from the nearest locality, Floresta Estadual do Paru, in the municipality of Monte Alegre, state of Pará, Brazil, and help to fill information gaps.

Abstract: Lithodytes lineatus (Schneider, 1799) is a small, litter-dwelling frog widely distributed in the Amazon Ecoregion and some transitional areas between the Amazon and Cerrado. Here we report seven new records of this species in a transitional zone between Amazon, Chiquitano Dry Forest and Cerrado ecoregions in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. These are the southernmost records of the species, expanding its distribution in 320 km from the nearest record in Bolivia.

Hydrolaetare schmidti (Cochran & Goin, 1959): new records for Amapá state, eastern Amazon and a geographic distribution map https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/30612/ Check List 15(5): 815-819

DOI: 10.15560/15.5.815

Authors: Janaina Reis Ferreira Lima, Jucivaldo Dias Lima, Jackson Cleiton Sousa, Silvia Helena de Oliveira, Carlos Eduardo Costa-Campos

Abstract: Hydrolaetare schmidti (Cochran & Goin, 1959) is 1 of 3 species of a genus that has a disjunctive distribution in the Amazon basin and is considered to be rare. Herein, we present the new records of H. schmidti from Amapá State, Brazil. This new record establishes the fifth known occurrence for H. schmidti and fills a gap of about 295 km in the distribution of the species, between Ouanari (French Guiana) and Tumucumaque Mountains National Park, Anacui River, municipality of Serra do Navio (Amapá).

Amphibians from Serrania de Las Quinchas, in the mid-Magdalena river valley, Colombia https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/29066/ Check List 15(3): 387-404

DOI: 10.15560/15.3.387

Authors: Andrés Ovalle-Pacheco, Claudia Camacho-Rozo, Sandy Arroyo

Abstract: We studied the species of amphibians from Serranía de Las Quinchas, in the mid Magdalena Valley region of Colombia, comparing the data from a recent fieldwork with museum records and literature. We present a list of 50 species of amphibians (Anura and Caudata). In our survey, we recorded 36 species, of which 6 represented new records. One of the most interesting record is that of the genus Oedipina, since this is the first time the genus is recorded for the Cordillera Oriental. The number of species is what would be expected in a humid tropical forest of the mid-Magdalena river valley, given the co-occurrence of amphibian faunas distributed in the sub-Andean, Caribbean, and Chocó biogeographic regions.

Herpetofauna recorded by a fauna rescue program in a Caatinga area of João Câmara, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/21674/ Check List 13(5): 647-657

DOI: 10.15560/13.5.647

Authors: Pedro de Oliveira Calixto, Sérgio Augusto Abrahão Morato

Abstract: We present an annotated list of herpetofauna for the municipality of João Câmara, Rio Grande do Norte State (RN), Brazil, in Caatinga domain. The data were obtained through fauna rescue program activities performed during theinstallation of two wind energy parks. We recorded 10 species of lizards, eight snakes, four amphisbaenids and three anurans. The results obtained present extensions to known geographic distribution for four species (Amphisbaena littoralis, Enyalius bibronii, Epictia borapeliotes and Corythomantis greeningi) and add information to the natural history of the first two species. This constitutes the second list of herpetofauna for RN. Our results show that such studies may contribute useful data on herpetofauna, especially in poorly studied areas.
