Abstract: The ground-dwelling arthropod fauna of Estonia has been unevenly studied, and there are significant gaps of knowledge regarding microarthropods. Our study focused on alvars and both coastal and wooded grasslands within the Natura 2000 network in Estonia. Forty-four previously unrecorded species were found, and the presence of two species in Estonia is confirmed. Seven species of Araneae, Talavera thorelli (Kulczyński, 1891), Micaria micans (Blackwall, 1858), Drassodes cupreus (Blackwall, 1834), Pardosa maisa Hippa & Mannila, 1982, Rugathodes instabilis (Pickard-Cambridge, 1871), Donacochara speciosa (Thorell, 1875), and Pocadicnemis juncea (Locket & Millidge, 1953), three species of Prostigmata, Cunaxa capreolus (Berlese, 1890), Scirula impressa Berlese, 1887, and Storchia robusta (Berlese, 1885), and two species of Mesostigmata, Alloparasitus pratensis (Huhta & Karg, 2010) and Urotrachytes formicaria (Lubbock, 1881), are recorded for the first time from the Baltic states. The records of Diachromus germanus (Linnaeus, 1758) and the invasive Mermessus trilobatus (Emerton, 1882) represent the northernmost occurrences in Europe.

An annotated checklist of Prioninae Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) of Lithuania https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/98624/ Check List 19(2): 251-262

DOI: 10.15560/19.2.251

Authors: Vytautas Tamutis, Romas Ferenca, Vitalijus Bačianskas

Abstract: We present the first annotated checklist of the subfamily Prioninae Latreille, 1802 (Coleoptera, Ceram-bycidae) in Lithuania. At least 140 published and unpublished records of Prioninae were analyzed and collected specimens were verified. As a result, one species, Aegosoma scabricorne (Scopoli, 1763), was found to be new for Lithuanian fauna and three species, Ergates faber (Linnaeus, 1761), Tragosoma depsarium (Linnaeus, 1767), and Prionus coriarius (Linnaeus, 1758), were confirmed in the country. The information on the local occurrence, natu-ral history, general distribution, and conservation status of these species is reviewed.

A northern record of Meripilus giganteus (Fr.) P. Karst., 1882 (Polyporales, Agaricomycetes) from Dubki Park, Saint Petersburg, Russia https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/38197/ Check List 15(6): 1093-1097

DOI: 10.15560/15.6.1093

Abstract: We present a new record for the polypore Meripilus giganteus (Fr.) P. Karst., 1882 from Dubki Park, Saint Petersburg, Russia. This is one of the northernmost records in Europe for this species. The morphological description of M. giganteus LE 287654 is given and its ecological preferences, which highlight an unusual ecological situation of this species in Dubki Park, are discussed.

New records of a poorly studied mayfly species, Eurylophella karelica Tiensuu, 1935 (Ephemeroptera, Ephemerellidae), in the Baltic Ecoregion https://checklist.pensoft.net/article/20170/ Check List 13(4): 349-353

DOI: 10.15560/13.4.349

Authors: Dāvis Ozoliņš, Jolanta Jēkabsone, Agnija Skuja, Henn Timm

Abstract: Eurylophella karelica is a rare and poorly investigated species of European Ephemeroptera from the family Ephemerellidae. From the 1930s to 1970s, E. karelica has not been reported from historical localities in Karelia, Lithuania and Poland. New localities from Hungary, Slovenia and Lithuania are discovered over the last 2 decades. This article reports first findings of E. karelica in Latvia and Estonia and explains sporadic distribution of this species.
