Abstract
During fieldwork at four horticulture farms in the highlands of Chiriquí Province in Panama, powdery mildews were collected from cultivated crops, namely, Erysiphe heraclei DC. on carrot, Phyllactinia taurica s.l. (Lév.) M. Bradshaw, Khodap. & U. Braun on bell pepper and tomato, and Podosphaera xanthii (Castagne) U. Braun & Shishkoff on zucchini. The three species represent new country records for Panama, E. heraclei is recorded for the first time for Central America. Detailed species descriptions and illustrations are provided, along with new ITS rDNA sequence data and a multilocus phylogeny.
