AbstractThe Brown-banded Cockroach, Supella longipalpa (Fabricius, 1798), is a synanthropic species of presumed African origin widely spread through human-mediated transport. We report the first verified record of S. longipalpa from Estonia and the Baltic countries, based on material collected indoors in a student dormitory in Tartu. The presence of adults, nymphs, and an ootheca indicates local completion of the life cycle. Identification was based on morphology and confirmed by DNA barcoding. This record extends the known distribution of the species in northern Europe.
