We wish to submit an original research manuscript entitled “First record of the delicate salt
mouse, Salinomys delicatus (Rodentia, Cricetidae), in a xeric environment of northwestern
Córdoba, Argentina, with comments on its conservation status” to be considered for
publishing in the Check List.
We confirm that this work is original and has not been published elsewhere nor is it currently
under consideration for publication elsewhere. I also corroborate that all authors have seen and
approved the manuscript and have contributed equally.
In this manuscript, we report the first record of a little known species for mastozoological studies
in the South American Southern Cone. At the same time, and based on the known records, we
discuss the conservation status of the species and propose its revision. This will allow us to
strengthen biodiversity protection policies in a sector of the Gran Chaco where the mastofauna is
suffering severe retractions.
The paper should be of interest to readers in the areas of Population dynamics, Taxonomists
Conservationist, mammal studies-mammalogists, etc.
In this sense, we believe that the contributions of this work place you within the guidelines of the
journal of which you are editor-in-chief.
